Long term suspension is defined as an Out of School Suspension for more than ten consecutive school days. In each instance of a long term suspension, the District shall assure the rights of the student pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.3. The District shall provide academic instruction that addresses the Core Curriculum Content Standards pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:8-3.1 et seq., which may include a public education program provided in accordance with the provisions of N.J.A.C. 6A:16-9 or 10. These services shall be provided within five school days of the suspension

Expulsion is the most severe form of disciplinary action a school may enforce. The action bars a student from further attendance at the school. It further requires sanction by the Superintendent and the Board of Education.

In accordance with North Warren’s “Zero Tolerance” statement, a probable recommendation for expulsion will result for students who sell drugs on campus, carry a weapon on campus, assault a school staff member, or are responsible for a threat against students or staff.
